DATA EAST ARCADE CLASSICS (wii)

checked-no Several titles in this collection appear to use the European or Japanese titles, instead of their U.S. arcade release names. * Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja - Bad Dudes. * Burnin' Rubber - Bump 'n' Jump. * Crude Buster - Two Crude. * Express Raider - Western Express. * Secret Agent - Sly Spy. * Street Hoop - Street Slam. =>[Burger Time] Cheat Death: If you die just as the final burger in the level is completed and drops into place, you'll start your death animation but revive for the victory animation. The next level will begin and you won't lose a life! You may later see Game Over flash on the screen should you lose the lives you had left when this trick was performed. =>[Burger Time] Extra Points: If you kill multiple enemies with a single dropped burger item, you'll receive additional points. If you manage to get all the enemies walking together (try tossing pepper at a few to slow them down, so that they revive when another enemy passes by), you can chain your kills. Kill all the enemies together on the first two screens for a 4,000 point bonus; kill them all on the later screens for a 16,000 point bonus. =>[Burnin' Rubber] Extra Lives: An extra live is award for each 30,000 points you receive. =>[Burnin' Rubber] Bonus Points: Complete a level without destroying any cars or trucks and you'll receive a 50,000 point bonus. A 1,000 point bonus is granted if you jump and land on one of the small islands. =>[Burnin' Rubber] Offscreen Jump: It's actually possible to jump THROUGH the left or right sides of the screen and land safely on the other side of the track, if the track is currently wide enough and you are traveling at a high enough speed. =>[Lock 'n' Chase] Items: Bonus items will appear in the center of each stage as you collect the dots from around the level. Items will appear after you collect 40, 55, 70, 100, and 130 dots. =>[Magical Drop III] Extra Characters: To unlock six additional characters in Challenge or Versus mode, simply highlight a listed character and press <C>x3 when their number is shown on the selection countdown timer (for example, highlight Fool and tap <C>x3 when the timer shows 0 seconds remaining). If you do so, six additional characters will appear and 10 seconds will be added to the timer. 20 - Judgement 6 - Lovers 19 - Sun 5 - Hierophant 17 - Star 4 - Emperor 15 - Devil 3 - Empress 13 - Death 2 - High Priestess 11 - Justice 1 - Magician 8 - Strength 0 - Fool 7 - Chariot =>[Magical Drop III] Father Strength: To unlock Father Strength in Challenge or Versus modes, highlight Strength on the character selection screen, hold <C> and press <A>+<B>. =>[Magical Drop III] High Score Trick: Given that you can't progress through the Challenge mode without collecting fire spheres, you can earn extra points by successfully completing the first stage WITHOUT collecting any fire spheres, thus continually replaying the first level and adding to your score. You won't progress through the game until you collect a fire sphere, but you won't lose the game as long as you keep beating the first level. =>[Secret Agent] Golden Gun: Defeated enemies will occasionally drop a Golden Gun piece (gold eagle with a red G). Collect five and you'll temporarily get the Golden Gun, which decimates most enemies and does major damage to the bosses. Sadly, a small timer will appear in the top of the screen, and after about 25 seconds you will lose the gun. =>[Secret Agent] Kicking: If you manage to waste all your bullets, you'll be able to kick enemies (at about double damage) until you gather more bullets. If you waste your bullets during the sky diving intro, you'll punch them out instead. =>[Secret Agent] Cameos: A variety of cameo appearances from other Data East arcade games are sprinkled throughout the game, generally in the form of arcade logos or posters. However, if you watch the ground at the beginning of the final level, you should spot a robotic body lying on the floor. The body bears a striking resemblence to Robocop, star of another Data East game. =>[Steet Hoop]: The U.S. version (Street Slam) used U.S. city names for the teams. The version in this collection appears to be the European one, in which the teams are based in countries around the world.
